To those who never had the opportunity to read such an amazing book.
You probably aren’t a single mom like me and you’re reading this post. I’d like to say a big thank you 🙂
Please share this post when you’re done reading and encourage a mother 🙂 obrigado!
The book ‘A Single Mother’s Survival Guide’ was written by Patrice karst(also a single mum)
To my sisters,
Single mothers the world over,
Who despite their amazingly
Challenging situations, continue to strive
To raise happy, healthy children___
This book [now blog] is in praise of you.
WHO IS THE SINGLE MOTHER?
You come from every race, religion, age, creed, and walk of life, each with your own story to tell, your own rhythm to dance to.
You are divorced, unwed, or widowed. Some of you adopted kids, or had children from donor insemination, or simply chose to have a child outside of marriage.
Your partner may have left you while you were pregnant, you may be rich and have full-time help, you have four kids and struggle on welfare.
You have teenage sons, or you may be a teenager yourself.
You may have new born twins, live on a farm, or in a skyscraper. Some of you have it easier than others, many of you are just about holding on.
You are everywhere, in all places. From the outside, you look different from one another. However, all share the same a common bond___ you are raising children without partners.
No matter how you got here, somehow you got here… [our] hope is that this book/ blog will have some personal message for you all.
We need each other.
THE FAIRY TALE.
Once upon a time,
You went to a dance,
Fell in love, got married (or maybe not),
Had some kids,
& and lived happily ever after… well maybe not happily. But the point is, until recent times this book/blog would have had far fewer readers.
Welcome to the new millennium.
REASONS TO BE HAPPY ABOUT BEING A SINGLE MUM.
Your children will be very appreciative of all your work. They will be appreciative of all your work. They will become rich and support you well in your old age.
It will bring you good karma.
Although you may not hear this often (or at all), you are admired by many, including the creator.
You won’t have to deal with a pain-in-the-butt husband in the house telling you what to do (I like this LOL)
It’s pretty hip these days.
It will make you a stronger person.
Any kind of motherhood is a gift.
Your other option is misery.
FAMOUS SINGLE MOTHERS.
Patrice karst( author of the book)
Mrs. Clinton (the president’s mum)
THE FORGOTTEN SEGMENT OF SOCIETY.
[You] sometimes feel invisible and alone. Instead of being praised, valued, and respected, [You] seem to put down too often.
The truth is that [You] are courageous, strong, amazing women, doing, in many cases, a job raising our kids that is better than some two-parented families. The struggle [You] endure on a daily basis, spirituality, physically, emotionally, and financially, would weaken the fittest of folk__ and still carry on.
[You] have the same hopes for [your] children as everyone else and [you] will prosper and make your mark in history, as the brave women [you] are, instead of filling the job of scapegoats(I like that Karst used this word) for all of society’s ills.
(God I feel so political all of a sudden [me too Karst])
Please check back on Monday to read more on this book. However, if you aren’t a single mum, and do not find this helpful kindly help a sister struggling by sharing (you will be rewarded greatly by God).
Thanks for reading!
