Smile, even though

We are unhappy, and it shows. We are easily irritated, and it shows. Things are unfair, and we all know it. But the bitterness and anger in every word and look is only a mean of increasing the inequality and mess we are in by dividing us even further.

It is hard to be strong and smile when the things we suffer from are not of our own doing but of the doing of a generation preceding ours. We are left to deal with the leftovers of a group that did not think of the consequences their actions would lead to. We are stuck. The “know-care” attitude the youth of my country, Cote D’ivoire, is only a defense mechanism. Why should we work hard at school to only have our teachers bitterly refuse to submit our grades? Why should we graduate when after this nobody outside of our family will…
